A weekly collection of notes on science and society with an emphasis on disinformation, data, and democracy
...but not always.
UPDATED MAY 26, 2021:
Every Sunday at 7 pm EDT (Monday, 7 am MYT), I share a list of snippets on science and society, with a focus on data, democracy and disinformation. But sometimes, it is about other things, such as identity politics, film theory, maybe even gardening. Sometimes I go The Extra Mile and publish stand-alone pieces.
The first section is a short essay, maybe accompanied by an image, that I will use either to comment on the subjects of the news that I posted above or something unrelated that has occupied my mind.
The second sections are a few paragraphs on the latest research, news and analysis that I encounter over the week. They will always show the names of the author and publisher. Paywalled links will be marked with a dollar sign, $.
The third section is a recommendation list of books, films, podcasts, etc.
The fourth section is the chart of the week. (Yes! I like charts!)
The fifth section is The Sidelines, the transcript link for the week’s interview.
